There is a shrub flowering now it has a green pom pom flower about six feet high can any body tell what it is?

it is probably called a snowball bush, ask your local nursery; they are quite pretty and the blooms go quickly so enjoy it

The lime-green flowers of Hydrangea paniculata, or "Limelight," turn to a cream white at maturity to add an iridescent quality to the landscape. The flowers never flop like other hydrangeas. The plant also blooms earlier.
Reply:I vote with snowball-- looks like a very tall hydgranga-- color lite green unless enough sun-- then white.

good luck
Reply:It sounds like you have a large hydrangea bush. They are beautiful and have the characteristic pom poms, but they can be a little overwhelming if not cut back every year.

The link below has a picture of one like you described...look at the leaf texture and shape to see if it matches, if you don't have any blooms yet.

Happy Spring!
Reply:It does sound like a snowball bush, it will eventually turn all white.
Reply:Could be a hydrangea - the colour of the flowers can be influenced by the soil type.
