I had 3 shrubs out front of the house I just moved into but one was dead so I pulled it out and planted a rose bush in it's place. I check the ground and there were some bugs but nothing out of the ordinary. The poor Rose bush had been inside for a week maybe twp as the weather was not good enough to plant it. Well today when I checked on it, it looked a little un-well. I gave it plant food and it's supposed to rain today . But I was just wonder if I need to be worried if the same thing that killed the Shrub will kill my Roses or if the Roses are just readjusting to their new home.
I pulled out a dead shrub and planted a rose bush in it's place - should I worry about it dying?
There's a lot we need to know before we can answer your question.
1. Is the location sunny (Good) or shady (not so good for roses)?
2. Where do you live? (City/State)
3. What kind of soil are you planting into? (Builders junk or good soil)?
Planting and growing roses is a challenge which can pay off with great looking flowers and jealous neighbors. I'd suggest that you get a good book - Roses for Dummies by Lance Walheim is a good start - and find out if you have planted for success or doomed your rose to a lingering exit.
If you can share a little bit more information and get yourself a good reference book you can probably be the envy of your neighborhood - Unless you live in Frostbite Falls, MN.
Have fun gardening

Reply:yesssssssss becaus if the old roooots wewr in there thay would tangel and cholk the plant
Reply:The conditions in that location probably killed the shrub. Something must be different there from the other two shrubs.
Soil is drier and dusty and doesn't hold onto water?
Site is overhung and doesn't get water?
Tree roots are taking away water?
The site gets no sun?
Figure out what killed the shrub because it's probably going to kill the rose, too. Modify the conditions before it does.
Reply:water,water,water everyday 15 min b4 sundown!
Reply:Give it some time to adjust.
