What kind of tree or shrub sometimes has a substance on the tips that look like saliva but is not sticky?

The substance on the tree or shrub (tips of the branches) looks a bit foamy. I am not sure what type of tree or shrub this would be. Would anyone happen to know the name?

if it looks like spit its from a bug

oddly enough called a spittle bug
Reply:There are hundreds of trees and srubs that do this .Just one way of ridding toxins kinda like urine.
