It has a white woody "trunk" or stems and the leaves are about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long and a maroony shade of red. The leaves are just shaped like a oval like a generic leaf shape. I got these shrubs from a home that didn't want them any longer and he called them red leaf liropetellum. But I can't find any name like this on the internet. Do you know what it is called.
Anyone know the correct name for this shrub?
It sounds like you are referring to loropetelum chinense - common name is Witch Hazel. See the link below.
Reply:There's a type of tree variety called Leptospermums. Is this possibly what you are looking for?
Here's one variety, called Dark Shadow: http://www.scenicnursery.com/archives/00...
Reply:if it is the chinese fringe flower then the correct name is loropetalum
Reply:It kinda sounds like a Chinese Fringe Flower. Ebay has some if you want to check them out.
