Recommend evergreen shrub that will flower during summer, 3-4ft high that will mature to height quite quickly

Hi. Its really important to mention where abouts you live in the world. The answer will definately vary!

An evergreen shrub that grows fast and blooms in the summer? Off the top of my head I would say Oleander, but it does not survive in anything less than a zone 9.

Try azalea or rhododendron, they usually do nicely in zone 4 all the way to zone 9.
Reply:Hi John Check out these varieties: Escalonia, Choiysa (Mexican Orange Blossom) , Ceanothes, Hebe, Kalmia, Oleaia, Ozmanthus, Viburnum, Berberis, Cistus. Google names and you will get a description of each. Escalonia and Choiysa are my favourites but call into your nearest garden centre who should have all of these shrubs and you can see them in the flesh so to speak.. All shrubs can be kept to the height you wish by annual pruning or clipping. Hpe this helps. Cheers Pendelli
