I have seen a multi floral white shrub I would love to know the name of?

its in flower now, has arched stems with hundreds of little white flowers all the way up it, it has tiny little dark green leaves behind the flowers, a bit like stars, no smell, just beautiful to look at, its quite a tall large shrub, abou 6ft high, and wide, thanks for looking.

is it pyracanthus (sp)
Reply:Possibly Spiraea nipponica "Snowmound" if it has no scent.

Most of the white flowered summer shrubs are scented (to attract pollinators)

The pyracanthas have finished flowering in the Midlands - mostly looking pretty "dead" now before the berries form.

Osteomeles is an arching shrub with five-petalled flowers but these come in clusters.

Styrax has lots of yellow-centred white flowers in early summer.
Reply:It is most likely one of the Philadelphus', as they are currently in flower. There are a few varieties, but all have white flowers and a strong perfume, and arching stems. They should be pruned by half immediately after flowering, then the growth it puts on will provide the flowering stems for next year.
Reply:abelia?
Reply:could be pyrocantha. are there any thorns? if there arent thats not it.

my best guess is that its some form of viburnum
Reply:is one in my garden wan me to send you a photo of it
