I need ideas for a small, evergreen shrub or tree?

I would like to plant a small evergreen shrub or tree that will not grow over 6' tall. Any ideas?

Lemonade Berry; Sugar Bush; Blue Girl %26amp;Blue Boy Holly; You have to have male and female in order to get the red berries. Twinberry; but my favorite is (Rhamnus) Coffeeberry--especially one known as leatherleafed. Flannel bush is really pretty, but the fuzz sometimes acts as an irritant.
Reply:arborvitae trees would be nice.
Reply:Withouth knowing if your want sun/shade or what zone you are in... I have these suggestions:

Abutilon (flowering maple)

Arbutus (strawberry tree)

Carpenteria californica (evergreen mock orange)

Choisya ternata (Mexican orange blossom)

Loropetalum (fringe flower)

Reply:Some of my favorite trees are the youpon hollys. These holly trees are often used as bonsai trees; however, they can also grow 10-15 feet tall if left unprunned for several years.

They keep almost all of their leaves during winter and have beautiful bright red berries in the winter that add color and contrast with most winter yardscapes. You can let them grow naturally with their beautiful twisting trunks or prune them into a solitary tree trunk. Many people like to prune them into pom pom shapes too depending on whether you want a natural or very groomed look. They are hardy in almost all winter and summer climates.

Look at the other Holly trees as choices too as well as some of the shorter junipers, conifers and hemlocks.
Reply:Hi:

There are several different possiblitlies for growing evergreen trees under six feet. Some Cyrpess, Arborvitaes, and Junipers are great. It will depend on what geographic location you are in. This will determing what is considered deciduous and evergreen.

Take a look at my gallery of plant section of my website and browse through the many pictures as well as descriptions of different trees, shrubs, flowers and herbs.

Hope this will help you and if you need any other help, please feel free to contact me. Have a great day!

Reply:I have 8 Buford Holly's planted in my yard and I really like them.. They will only get to 6ft tall, they are green all year, very drought resistant, and I get red berries on them in the winter. They are slow growing so do not ex[ect a hedge from them real fast.
Reply:agreed
Reply:Try the dwarf alberta blue spruce. It basically can grow anywhere.
