What's the best tree or shrub for me?

I want to plant a new tree or shrub in my yard and I don't want to encounter any problem with whatever I plant.

What's the best tree or shrub for me?
Plant ANTIGONON.

Its a hardy plant, needs plenty of sunlight, flowers throughout the year, and its flowers provide nectar in abundance to Honey bees.
Reply:There are hundreds of plants for you to choose from. The best choice for you depends on the climate where you live, soil conditions, and the features you are looking for in terms of growth habit, landscape attributes, and size. Do some research in gardening books to narrow the choices. Then visit your local nursery or look at garden catalogues to see if the plant you want is available. Don't forget to consider National Arboretum introductions. Almost all of them are exceptionally beautiful and highly resistant to most pests and diseases.
Reply:I assume you would want a smaller tree.....try a dogwood, or a corkscrew willow or a japanese epaulette tree(can find info for all these on the internet)....for shrubs...I would say...butter fly bush(many different flowering colors)...low shrub form or artemesia(silver cut leaves that smell great when rubbed or bruised), and elderberry...finely cut leaves similar almost to japanese maples....come in different colors(leaves can be yellow-green, green, dark green, bluish green and purple), elderberry are alot cheaper than japanese maples and also flower in the spring.....look up these trees and shrubs at forest farm nursery online...I have ordered from them in the past,,,they have great stock...also they have pictures for most of the plants/shrubs etc...listed in their catalog...good luck and happy planting...
Reply:go for maple tree or magnolia tree if you are in US... for India neem would be fine... menhdi (henna) is one of the best shrubs found in India
Reply:rose if u r careful
Reply:Do your homework, and know that some trees roots can over take your septic systems and mess with the foundation on your house. Ask a qualified nursery worker if you see something you like but you don't know any thing about it.
Reply:Artificial would suit .Needs no care
Reply:determine your climate zone then decide the ultimate size of the tree and its function.is it purely decorative etc. choose a native variety and buy from a reputable nursery. Consult the county's Cooperative Extention office
Reply:Planting a tree is not to be taken lightly. So many plant a tree without research and are unhappy when the tree get older and has messy Berry's or fruit, or dies due to wrong conditions A tree may look cool in the container but like a puppy thy get much larger and not so cute. Do not rely on the employees where the tree is sold, do your own search before going to buy. Remember a tree going to be with you a long time. Know all the pros and cons
